             Wylan Watson Memorial Benefit
                      One Day Tournament
                Including the Zombie Theme
                   Ridley Park, Columbia, TN

Thorpe Watson is a member of the USGF umpire crew. His son Wylan Watson was tragically killed in an ATV accident this spring. Wylan was 11 years old and a young athlete. It is our desire to honor Wylan with this benefit tournament, all proceeds will go to assist the family, Thorpe and Valerie, with the funeral expenses.  

Zombie Theme

Because the Zombie Premier tournament was rained out last week. The zombie theme will be included in our benefit tournament. All teams are welcome to wear their costumes and each age group will compete to win a $40 Little Ceasar's gift card. Best zombie mom will win a $50 visa gift card.

There will be long sleeve zombie glow-in-the-dark t-shirts for sale from last week, there will not be a reprint for this week.  There will also be t-shirts available for this weekends benefit.

Tournament Schedule - Warm-up game does not seed, 55mins drop dead. Coaches draw for placement into brackets. Teams playing two warm-up games receive the bye in the bracket. Bracket games are 70 mins finish the inning. "If" necessary games are 45mins finish the inning.

Format: WarmUp game(does not seed), coaches draw into double elimination bracket. 3gg
Fees: 8U - $150, 10U-18U $225
All balls are furnished
Top two places will receive team and individual awards
All teams need to submit a signed and completed USGF roster
All teams need to submit a copy of your team insurance
All teams must sanction your team online at www.usgfp.com
Team managers need birth certificates in your possession throughout the tournament
Online payment at www.usgfp.com through team account
Gate fees $10 
Make sure your players are age-eligible for your age group. Age eligible January 1, 2018

Rules and Standards

Rules

Batters: each team can bat up to 12 batters for pool and tournament games.

Unique rule to USGF: is the courtesy runner: A courtesy runner can be used at any time once per inning. A courtesy runner does not burn your sub. However, if your courtesy runner is on base and has to come up to bat she must take an out at bat. So, be aware of where your courtesy runner is in the lineup.

The Official Game Time: begins at the flip and the plate umpire is the keeper of the time.

Pool Play Guidelines: Time limit will be 55minutes, finish the inning. No drop dead. The game can end in a tie. In the case of a tie, both teams are awarded one-half (.5) a win and one-half (.5) a loss in the seeding stats.  Home team is considered the official score book for each game. Parents/fans are welcome to keep score boards.

Metal Cleats: Metal cleats are approved for the use of 14U-18U.

Rain Policy: If no games are played entry fee is returned. If one game is played one-half of the entry fee is returned. If two games are complete there are no refunds issued. No refunds for gate passes.
